What is chair massage?  Massage that focuses on the high tension areas of the neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands.  It is performed on a specially designed chair, by a licensed massage therapist.
What are the benefits of chair massage?  The effects of massage can vary according to the techniques used.  Chair massage contributes to improved blood circulation, calming or invigorating the nervous system, and relaxing the muscles.  It can also increase mental and physical productivity and reduce stress, pain and fatigue.  Following a period of calmness, the client may experience a surge of energy and heightened awareness.
How much space is needed?  This depends on the number of massages being performed at one time.  Your consultant can help you determine how much space is needed for your event.
Do health issues prohibit chair massage?  Medical contraindications include but are not limited to: The first trimester of pregnancy, uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes, fractures, herniated disks and cancer.  Inform the therapist of any health conditions before the massage begins.
What about hygiene?  The therapists clean and disinfect their hands and chair between each massage.  Each client uses a new face-rest cover to ensure cleanliness.
Can you do massage aboard the bus? Yes, two massages at a time. This is a great place to do massage when at an outdoor event.
Are oils or lotions used?  Oils are not used in chair massage though lotion may be used for hand massage.
Is aromatherapy used?  Due to the confined space no fragrances are used.
Is clothing removed?  No but for client comfort, jackets and obstructive jewelry should be removed.
Are the therapists licensed?  Our therapists are nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork and licensed by the State of Florida.  The only exception to this is when we offer volunteer massage at charity events.  We then invite massage students to join us and experience contact with clients.
